Job Objective

The Financial Controller contributes to the overall success of the organization by effectively managing all financial tasks, manage and support the efficiency and process improvement projects, system implementation and support the overall needs of the business, other departments and as well as overall Group context.


  • Manage period-end close financial reporting for accuracy and meeting deadlines
  • Ensure compliance to the Corporate Closing Checklist
  • Responsive to all internal and external corporate requests and reporting deadlines
  • Monthly reporting and consolidation for various region and Business units
  • Support the management in coordination with Budgets and forecast processes for the different Business units and regions
  • Ensure compliance to IFRS and the establishment of accounting policies and procedures with respect to internal controls and the facilitation of business transactions
  • Actively review and maintain internal controls and process efficiency and improvement
  • Financial and Management Reporting
  • Interacts with Naspers and OLX on reporting issues
  • supports external audit
  • Oversee Balance sheet and Intercompany
  • Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting
  • Coordinate and drive various system implementations
  • People management

Relationships and roles 

  • The individual will have to work closely with various business heads across the MEA Region and provide strategic input to the business and provide full financial support for each region.

Practical / Technical knowledge

  • Strong technical Accounting knowledge
  • Solid understanding of the Business
  • IFRS knowledge
  • Knowledge of multicurrency environments
  • System implementation experience
  • Consolidation of various foreign entities
  • Strong in compliance and governance
  • Cognos experience

Job Requirements/Experience

  • 6+ years of experience in accounting and controlling environment
  • Demonstrated leadership experience
  • Experience in group reporting and report consolidation
  • Experience in budget and forecast preparations
  • Experience in implementing group finance processes, procedures and policies

  • High-output & deadline driven environment
  • Evolving group reporting structure and reporting requirements.

Accountability (freedom to act, scope and impact)

  • Responsible for gathering accurate data input and consolidating this into comprehensive corporate reporting
  • Accountable for accurate payroll processing

Education and training

  • Degree in Accounting/Finance/Business
  • Preferably Audit background
