Function description: 

As a Growth Business Analyst you will be co-responsible for building the leading online classifieds platform in Panamá. You will have a continuous focus on deepening our understanding of the business and on generating actionable insights about marketplace performance, user behavior and our commercial operations. Your daily work will hence be a mix of analysis and hands-on execution: collecting and analyzing data to generate insights, then transforming these insights into solutions that will help us reach our challenging business objectives.

 You will report to OLX Panamá’s Strategy & Operationes Manager, and have close interaction with other business functions including operations, marketing, product and monetization – locally as well as regionally. The work environment is high-paced, professional yet casual, international and entrepreneurial. All-in-all, you will have the opportunity to ride a very steep learning curve.

Who we are looking for

You have work experience in high-performance environments and are comfortable working in both Spanish and English. Moreover, you have a proven track record of personal, academic and professional achievements. You have strong analytical skills combined with a hands-on entrepreneurial attitude. You are passionate about online and have deep interest in bringing businesses to the next level. Independence, flexibility and speed are as important to you as gaining international experience.


What responsibilities will you get when working with us?

  • Perform analysis to understand our opportunities and barriers to growth through a quantitative/qualitative approach, and internal/external benchmarks.
  • Formulate smart business recommendations based on these analysis.
  • Work with markets and growth related areas such as Marketing and CLM in ideating new ways of acquiring/retaining users.
  • Analyze and optimize performance of new and existing growth channels.


Key responsibilities

  • Spider in the web of Business Intelligence
  • Collect first, second and third party data, which you analyze to drive actionable insights
  • Be an information provider and an internal consultant to the key local and regional decision-makers, including the General Manager, BI manager, Operations Manager, Head of Sales and others
  • Create customized internal reporting and dashboards and respond to ad-hoc analysis requests
  • Support the commercial team in information management and data extraction using SQL (you will be trained in SQL).
  • Manage multiple projects and reprioritize as necessary to meet deadlines
  • Work well both independently and within a team
  • Build relationships and partnerships with cross-functional teams



  • At least 3 years professional experience in consulting or a high-performance company, which developed your strong analytical and quantitative skills that you use for data-driven decision-making
  • Hands-on entrepreneurial mindset with ability to spot opportunities for improvement and implement solutions fast
  • Engineering, Economics or other numerical background; we’re looking for the smartest kid of her/his class
  • Highly proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with databases and querying (SQL) is a plus
  • Ability to deliver 80/20 when possible, and 100/100 when needed
  • Ability to learn quickly, own multiple tasks simultaneously, and thrive in ambiguity
  • Excellent Spanish and English communication skills, able to work with various stakeholders
