What responsibilities will you get when working with us?

  • Operate a global rapidly evolving Classifieds Platform at scale.
  • Manage and automate many aspects of our services and infrastructure (both in the cloud and on-premise).
  • Collaborate and provide guidance on monitoring and incidents handling to our Engineering teams.
  • Work closely with our Engineering teams around the world to support growth of our platform.
  • Ensure that our services and infrastructure are up-to-date with modern security standards.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose availability and performance issues.
  • Automate disaster recovery efforts and improve overall resiliency to failures.
  • Build tooling to increase visibility into our running production systems, measure performance continuously, and act upon changes.
  • Give back to the community via open source and blog posts.


What will you need to be successful in this role?

  •  BSc or MSc in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience a role such as System Engineering, Systems Administration and Infrastructure.
  • Solid troubleshooting skills and and can-do attitude towards problem solving.
  • Working knowledge of Amazon Web Services with a hands-on experience of running infrastructure utilising services from the AWS ecosystem.
  • Experience working with back-end platforms built using PHP and/or JVM-based language (e.g. Java, Kotlin, Scala, etc.).
  • Solid knowledge of Linux operating system (familiarity with the command line and OS internals).
  • Knowledge of core Internet protocols and core networking concepts (e.g. TCP/IP, UDP, routing, etc.).
  • Experience with using containers (using Docker, LXC, rkt, etc.), familiarity with Kubernetes and/or OpenShift is a plus.
  • Familiarity with MySQL (or PostgreSQL), Redis, Memcached, etc.
  • Proficiency using Configuration Management (e.g. Chef, Puppet, Ansible, etc.).
  • Experience using infrastructure automation tools like e.g. Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one programming language e.g. Ruby, Python, Go, Java, etc.
  • Proficiency with Bash shell scripting.
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines.
  • Interest in designing, analysing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
  • Understanding the core ideas and principles behind DevOps, a plus.
  • Solving, Critical Thinking and Communication skills
  • Good verbal and written English.
